KRC-01’s new basic research result will be presented at International Wolfsberg Meeting

  • R&D

KORTUC has been conducting a collaborative research with Professor Mark De Ridder at UZ Brussel to investigate the KORTUC radiosensitizing mechanism of action.
In addition to the poster presentation at ESTRO2023, the result from this research will be presented at annual meeting of International Wolfsberg Meeting held in June 2023.

In this study, it was shown that the radiosensitizing effect of H2O2 under hypoxic conditions can be attributed to the inhibition of cellular respiration through a complex I (exist on the inner mitochondrial membrane) blockade, in addition to reoxygenating cells.
